I’m not big on tests or exams, and you probably aren’t either, but Paul calls Christians to “examine [our]selves to see if [we] are in the faith” in II Corinthians 13. It’s not a scare tactic; Paul just urgently wanted the Corinthian Christians to discover afresh the fact that Jesus Christ was in them–and to live like it!
This awareness is essential to living holy lives before God. This knowledge of the presence and power of Christ is essential to letting go of our fleshly sense of self-sufficiency and finding total satisfaction in God and His marvelous grace. Also, in the message I make reference to a very helpful book entitled “MARGIN: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives” by Dr. Richard Swenson, M.D. Click on the image to the left to read reviews and learn more about Dr. Swenson. Like it or not, believe it or not, regardless of what our hurry-up, measure-up and keep-up culture tells us, you and I have limits; we aren’t designed to be completely self-sufficient beings. If you’re pushing all your limits and nearing the breaking point, margin is what you need! I highly recommend you read this as 2011 winds down and you set your sights on 2012.
