Becoming a church of expanding gospel influence is not something that will happen naturally or easily. The reason for this is because we don’t become Christians of expanding gospel influence naturally or easily. God gives us His divine aid, but we must exert ourselves spiritually by putting our faith to work for others, laboring in gospel love for the sake of others, and by hoping steadfastly in the resurrection and return of Jesus.

For Bridge Church to become a church of expanding gospel influence in Perry and in the world beyond, those who make up this body of believers must decide that Jesus is worth the spiritual, physical and relational exertion required. We will face this decision every day of our lives. As God presents us opportunities to expand our influence for the glory of His Son, will we put our faith to work, or will we wilt? Will our love labor that others may see and savor Christ, or will we become lazy? And will our hope root itself in the rock-solid reality of the resurrection and return of Jesus or in the shifty sands of earthly pleasures?
