Have you ever wondered how, as Christ-followers, we’re supposed to embrace and agree with the righteous judgment of God on sin and sinners while also offering His grace to those very sinners in the name of Christ? Do you ever feel hypocritical for believing in a God who is angry at sinners and yet merciful toward sinners? If so, you’re not alone. This is an issue with which every Christian must wrestle and I believe that, biblically speaking, the solution to the problem is perspective, that is, seeing the problem from both the vantage point of heaven and up-close at ground-level.
In Psalm 119:126, the psalmist says to God: “It is time for the LORD (the I AM) to act.” He is ready for God to execute judgment on his enemies: those who are breaking God’s law. This is not a wicked desire on the part of the psalmist, but rather a desire in keeping with the fulfillment of God’s promise of salvation. Click here to listen to this Sunday’s message.
